Striking and hypnotic, listening through Geister is a rugged and immense journey. The album is brimming with ceremonial darkness from the moment it starts. The intensity of each track is bookended with ritual, and this immersive factor keeps me utterly entranced by the story being told. Geister still feels frigid and dangerous, and I end up captivated every time I listen.

Je sais que le jeu de mot est gratuit, mais Vintlechkeit est au sommet, encore. Une part de moi-même espère que le groupe sorte un album un jour, mais de l'autre côté, les démos sont toujours exceptionnelles. "Av Vinteren...", superbe et planant, presque comme un rêve glacial. "...til Vinteren..." qui progresse sur deux parties similaires, comme un blizzard sans fin. "Til Svart Kosmos...", revenant sur une sorte de calme proche du silence... Se perdre dans le froid puis s'y retrouver soi-même...

Evig Og Mork Vinter... ou, traduit en français, Hiver Sombre et Éternel... Cette première démo qui accompagne la naissance de Vintlechkeit — à l'époque one-man band mené par un certain Vinter — pose déjà toutes les fondations : la pochette sylvestre en nuances de gris ternes, l'intérêt pour les points de suspension (mélancolie ? difficulté à respirer à cause du mal des montagnes ?), les bourrasques glaciales et le black metal atmosphérique oppressant. L'entité la plus fascinante de Norvège !
